In this article, I'm gonna share my thoughts about planning ahead of time to complete a task.
So, let's get started.

Okay. The first thing is I am not talking about time traveling. At least not for now. I am talking about the calculations of the required time, a task can take to get done, successfully.

For that, let's find out the answer to a simple question. How to determine a perfect time period to complete some task?
The answer is simple and difficult at the same time. It's because the actual time required to complete a task includes three things. i.e., starting point, the running phase and the ending point. It means that to find the duration of a task to be completed, we have to determine the duration of all the three stages of that task.

Well, can we now conquer all the tasks by determining their complete duration? Maybe not.

Why I am saying this? Because there is one more factor that has a great impact on any task to be done successfully. Can you guess what it is?

Yes. You guessed it right. It's the human factor.

We have to consider the time that we are personally going to take for completing a particular task.

Let's say, we want to write at least 7 articles for consecutive 7 days on our Hashnode blog. We can do this in two ways.

• Either we can start to think of a new topic every day, write it down, publish it before 12 a.m. and repeat the same thing daily, which could exhaust us more than required.
  
• Or, we can preplan about 10 topics, keep ready with 3 or more of them to publish on the first day of the challenge, and keep the balance of writing and posting the articles by having a few of them in backup to post if we can't write on a day for some reason.

By the above two options, it's obvious that we will have a better chance to complete our task on time by preplanning each stage of its process, which includes the human factor as well.

Okay. If you already include preplanning in your tasks, then you are doing a great job.
And if not, then you should definitely start doing it from now onwards.
